OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OP
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
Election held in the Town of Takoma Park, situated in the
counties of Montgomery and Prince George, Maryland, on
Wednesday, March 24, 1954 an Act known as Chapter 241
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1953 was submitted
to the voters of the Town of Takoma Park, for their adoption
or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 241 of the Acts
of 1953, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sec-
tions 104-6 of the Montgomery County Code (1951
Supplement) being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, and Section 1297 of the
Prince George's County Code (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, as said sections were amended by Chapter 89
of the Acts of 1951, providing for a veto power for
the Mayor of Takoma Park".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 444 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 241 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1958 and 872 votes were cast
against the adoption of the said Chapter 241; and a majority
of the votes being cast against the adoption of the said Act
the same has, therefore, failed of ratification by the voters
of the Town of Takoma Park.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
