it would be possible that these materials be furnished to the
members of the General Assembly by the same date in the
even years; now therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor and the Budget Director be requested to fur-
nish to the members of the General Assembly by January
20 in every even year in which there is to be a thirty-day
session of the General Assembly the proposed budget, to?
gether with all its supporting documents, which are for-
mally to be presented to the General Assembly when it
convenes on the first Wednesday in February.

(House Joint Resolution 6)
House Joint Resolution requesting the Superintendent of
Buildings to set apart and make available a room in the
State House with facilities for prayer and meditation and
for the use of members of the General Assembly.
WHEREAS, the members of the General Assembly of
Maryland have noted with concern that there is no place
set apart in the State House with facilities for prayer and
meditation to which the members of the General Assembly
might go for spiritual and moral refreshment; and
WHEREAS, it would be most helpful to all the members
of the General Assembly and also would be a striking re-
affirmation of the principles upon which this country and
this state were founded if such a room could be set apart
in the State House for the use of the members; now there-
fore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Superintendent of Buildings be requested tto make avail-
able, furnish and maintain a room in the State House with
facilities for prayer and meditation; and be it further
Resolved, That this room should be planned and pre-
served as one for individual rather than group use and
