284 JOINT RESOLUTIONS

(House Joint Resolution 7)

House Joint Resolution requesting the Director of the Fish
and Wildlife Service, U. S. Department of the Interior,
to modify the regulations as to the season, and other
matters in the hunting of wild waterfowl in Maryland.

WHEREAS, The population of all waterfowl has greatly
increased in the State of Maryland during the past several
years; and

WHEREAS, It is the general opinion of a great majority of
all sportsmen in the State that conditions now warrant
more lenient regulations with regard to the taking of wild
waterfowl; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Director of the Fish and Wildlife Service, U. S. Department
of the Interior, be and he is hereby requested to modify the
regulations governing the hunting of wild waterfowl in
Maryland by providing:

(1) That additional hunting days be added to the ex-
piration date of the 1953 1951 1954-1955 season.

(2) That the use of bait be allowed up to but not
within two hundred (200) yards from the location of the
hunter.

Resolved, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby
directed to send a copy of this resolution, under the Great
Seal of the State of Maryland, to the Director of the Fish
and Wildlife Service, U. S. Department of the Interior,
