five days from each month of the period of the commit-
ment or sentence.
(2) For each calendar month commencing on the first
day of the month next after his arrival at the institution,
during which under such regulations as shall be estab-
lished by the County Commissioners he shall be deemed
to have manifested exceptional industry, application and
skill in the performance of industrial, agricultural or
administrative tasks assigned to him, he may, in the dis-
cretion of the County Commissioners, be allowed an addi-
tional deduction of five more days from each month of the
period of his commitment or sentence. This sub-section
shall not be construed to authorize any deduction because
of work performed before June 1, 1951.
(3) For each and every violation of the rules and dis-
cipline of the institution, or want of fidelity or care in the
performance of work, the person herein confined shall not
only forfeit all gained time in the month in which such
delinquency occurs, but, according to the aggravated nature
or frequency of his offense, the County Commissioners may
deduct a portion of all his gained time for good conduct
under Sub-section (1) of this section but the deduction
allowed and earned under Subsection (2) hereof shall not
be affected thereby.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

5 of Article 38 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Fines and Forfeitures", increasing
the fines fund of the Bar Library of Baltimore City to
