more than four years and that each student receiving such
appointment shall give his bond for such amount and with
such security as may be approved by the president of said
college that he will teach school within the State of Mary-
land for not less than two years after leaving college.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 228
(Senate Bill 307)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition, being Article
3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Baltimore County", sub-title "Jail and Jail Warden",
said new section to be known as Section 161A and to
follow immediately after Section 161 of said Article,
relating to the diminution of the period of confinement
in the jail of Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition,
being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Jail and Jail
Warden", said new section to be known as Section 161A
and to follow immediately after Section 161 of said Article
and to read as follows:

161 A. Each prisoner in said jail shall be entitled to a
diminution of the period of his confinement under the fol-
lowing rules and regulations:

(1) For each calendar month commencing on the first
day of the month next after his arrival at the institution,
during which he shall not be guilty of a violation of the
discipline or any of the rules thereof and shall labor with
diligence and fidelity, he shall be allowed a deduction of
