and penalties imposed by said Board and to discharge such
other duties pertaining to his office as are, or may
be, imposed
by law or any ordinance of said Board; provided, that before

entering upon the duties of said office, the said Treasurer shall
give bond to the said President and Commissioners, with surety
or sureties, to be
approved by said Board, and the said Board
shall have authority at any time to require the said Treasurer
to give additional bond or security conditioned as aforesaid,
for the amount of money in his hands or to come into his hands
during his term of office which shall be greater than is esti-
mated as aforesaid by the Board. Said Treasurer shall con-
tinue in office until his successor is appointed and qualified,
but
shall be subject to removal by said Board for neglect of
duty, disobedience of orders or other malfeasance in office. As
the entire compensation for his services, which he shall render
under and by virtue of the powers and duties conferred and
laid on him by this Act, or the ordinance of said Board, he shall
receive such sum as shall seem proper to said Commissioners,
or a proper proportion thereof, in case he should resign or be
removed during his term of office, said proportion to be rated
for the time of his service and said salary shall be paid as the
said Board shall direct. Said Board shall have the power, at
any time, to fill the vacancy in said office of Treasurer caused
by death, resignation, removal or otherwise, and the preceding
portion of this Section shall apply to a Treasurer so appointed,
except as to the term of his office, which shall be only to fill the
unexpired term of his predecessor.

84C. Said Treasurer shall have the same power and author-
ity to enforce the collection of Town taxes, general or special,
as are conferred upon the County Treasurer of Cecil County,
for the collection of State and County taxes by Section 156, of
Chapter 321, page 620, of the Law of Maryland, 1937.

84D. All money belonging to the said corporation which
shall come into the hands of the said Treasurer during each
week, shall be deposited by him by the close of said week in
some bank in Cecil County to be designated by the said Presi-
dent and Commissioners to the credit of the President and
Commissioners, and the moneys thus deposited shall be drawn
out only by check signed by said Treasurer and countersigned
by the President of said Board, and in case of absence or dis-
ability of either or both of them, or a vacancy in either, or both
of said positions, then by check signed and countersigned by
such person or persons as said Board shall designate. All docu-
ments, books and papers belonging to the Office of Treasurer
are hereby declared to be the property of said body corporate,
and at all times subject to the examination of said Board, and
together with the money in his hands belonging to said cor-
