CHAPTER 2
(Senate Bill 23)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tion (a) (6) of Section 117 and Sub-section (b) of Section
119 of Article 83 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Sales and Notices, " sub-title "Retail
Instalment Sales, " requiring that the instalment sales agree-
ment and the certificate of insurance sent to the buyer in
the case of the retail instalment sale of any motor vehicle
shall contain in bold type a definite statement that the in-
surance includes or does not include coverage for personal
liability and property damage to others.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (a) (6) of Section 117 and Sub-section
(b) of Section 119 of Article 83 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sales and Notices, " sub-
title "Retail Instalment Sales", be and they are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(a).
(6) The cost to the buyer of any insurance for the payment
of which credit is to be extended to the buyer, the amount or
extent and expiration date thereof, a concise description of
the coverage, and the party or. parties to whom such insurance
is payable. If the goods sold consist of a motor vehicle or
vehicles, the description of the insurance coverage, if any, shall
include in bold type 12 POINT BOLD TYPE OR LARGER
a definite statement that the insurance includes or does not
include coverage for personal liability and property damage
caused to others, as the case may be.

(b). Within 25 days after the delivery of the goods under
any instalment agreement, if any charge was thereby made to
the buyer for insurance, the seller or sales finance company
which was party to such instrument shall mail or cause to be
mailed to the buyer at his address as shown on such instru-
ment either a copy of each insurance policy, or an owner's
