(House Bill 423)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
103A of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Teachers' Re-
tirement System", as said section was enacted by Chapter
626 of the Acts of 1949, to include Cecil County in the list
of counties to which additional contributions to certain
retired teachers shall be made.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 103A of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title
"Teachers' Retirement System', as said section was enacted
by Chapter 626 of the Acts of 1949, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
103A. Any school teacher who is retired and who is receiv-
ing any retirement benefits under the provisions of this sub-
title, where such benefits in the aggregate are less than f 100. 00
per month, shall receive an additional sum not exceeding f 25. 00
per month upon application to the County Commissioners, and
said Commissioners shall annually levy an amount sufficient
to pay such additional benefits. Provided, that this section
shall apply only in Anne Arundel [and], Carroll and Cecil
Counties. Provided, also, that the sum granted to any appli-
cant by the said County Commissioners shall be such that
when added to whatever any such person is receiving from the
Teachers7 Retirement System, the total shall not exceed One
Hundred Dollars per month.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
