412 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 156

CHAPTER 156
(House Bill 289)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
390, 411, 412, 415 and 416 of Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil
County, " sub-title "Rising Sun, " to add two new sections to
said Article to be known as Sections 390A and 409A and to
follow immediately after Sections 390 and 409, respectively,
and to repeal Sections 394 and 413 of said Article, eliminat-
ing certain obsolete provisions and amending the Charter of
Rising Sun as to town elections, transfer of property in said
town and in other minor particulars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 390, 411, 412, 415 and 416 of Article 8 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Cecil County, " sub-title "Rising Sun, " be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that
two new sections be and they are hereby added to said Article
to be known as Sections 390A and 409A to follow immediately
after Sections 390 and 409, respectively, and that Sections 394
and 413 of said Article be and they are hereby repealed; and
all to read as follows:

390. [The male citizens of said village, of the age of
twenty-one years and upwards, being citizens of the United
States, who shall have resided in said village for and during
the space of six months preceding, shall elect by ballot on the
second Monday in May, in each and every year, at the usual
place of holding elections in said village, five Commissioners
for said village, who shall have resided within the corporate
limits of the same one year next preceding the election. ]

The Board of Commissioners shall consist of five (5) per-
sons, the President and four (4) Commissioners, who shall be

citizens of the United States, at least twenty-five years of age
and bona fide residents of said town for at least one year next
preceding the date of their election, and shall each in his own
right, or in the right of his wife, own taxable property in the
town assessed at not less than five hundred dollars ($500. 00);
and all citizens of the United States above twenty-one years of
age who shall have bona
fide resided in the town for one year
