immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being Article 17
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", said new section to be known as Section
35A, to follow immediately after Section 35 thereof, as said
Section 35 was enacted by Chapter 341 of the Acts of 1947,
to be under the sub-title "Bladensburg", and under the sub
heading "Boundaries", authorizing the Town of Bladensburg
under certain conditions to add to the corporate limits
thereof any area or section adjacent thereto and providing
for a referendum before any such annexation shall be effec-
tive.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edi-
tion), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Prince George's County", said new section
to be known as Section 35A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 35 thereof, as said Section 35 was enacted by Chapter 341
of the Acts of 1947, to be under the sub-title "Bladensburg",
and under the sub-heading "Boundaries", and to read as fol-
lows:
35A. The Town of Bladensburg shall be further authorised
and empowered to add to the corporate limits thereof as de-
fined and described in Sections 34 and 35 hereinabove. Upon
the application by petition of a majority of the residents, as
hereinafter defined, in any area or section adjacent to the
corporate limits of the town, and not contained within the
