corporate limits of any other municipal corporation, said
petition containing a full description of said area or section
by metes and bounds, the Mayor and Council of Bladensburg,
after having accepted said petition by a majority of said Mayor
and Town Council, shall provide
BY ORDINANCE for a
referendum on the question of adding the said area or section
to the corporate limits of the town,
AND SUCH ORDINANCE
SHALL SPECIFY THE BOUNDARIES OF SUCH AREA
OR SECTION BY METES AND BOUNDS. Said question
shall be submitted to the voters of the area or section as here-
inafter defined and the duly qualified voters in the existing
Town of Bladensburg at the time of holding said referendum
at any regular or special election therein,
AND SAID REF-
ERENDUM, IF HELD, SHALL BE WITHIN FIVE
MONTHS AFTER THE SUBMISSION OF SAID PETI-
TION. The Mayor and Council shall give at least three weeks'
notice to the voters of the submission of any such question,
by public notice in a county newspaper of general circu-
lation therein or by posting in five conspicuous places in each
ward and in the proposed annexed area. Said notice shall
also state the time and place for registration of eligible voters
as hereinafter provided. The day of registration shall be set
not more than one week prior to the date of referendum. Such
notice shall contain a full and adequate description of the
metes and bounds of the area or section so proposed to be
added to the town. Such notice shall also state the qualifi-
cations for voting. At the said referendum the ballot or voting
machine label shall contain a brief description of the area
or section so proposed to be added to the town, together with
the words "For the proposed annexation", and "Against the
proposed annexation". If a majority of the combined voters
of the Town of Bladensburg and the said proposed annexed
area or section who vote on said question vote "For the pro-
posed annexation", the Mayor shall so proclaim, and as of the
first day of the month next thereafter the said area or section
shall be held and considered to be within the corporate limits
of the Town, in all respects as if it were defined and described
in Sections 34 and 35 above. Thereafter, all laws, ordinances
and regulations generally applicable in the Town of Bladens-
burg shall apply and be effective equally in said area or section.
If a majority of the voters of the area or section who vote on
said question vote "Against the proposed annexation", the
Mayor shall so proclaim, and said proposed annexation shall
be of no further force or effect.

The qualification of voters in the referendum election from
the existing Town of Bladensburg shall be the same as those
set forth for General Town Elections provided for in the char-
