EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT


OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE


To the Cleric of the Court of Appeals;


I, VIVIAN V. SIMPSON, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 203
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election held in
the State of Maryland, on November 7, 1950 an Act known as
Chapter 708 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1949, was submitted to the voters of Baltimore City and
Baltimore County, for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Article 16 of the Constitution of the State, said
Act being:


An Act making it lawful to hold or conduct carnivals,
bazaars, or raffles by certain organizations or corpora-
tions, for the benefit of certain religious, charitable
organizations or corporations in Baltimore City and Bal-
timore County.


AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election in Baltimore City,
86, 248 votes were cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 708
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1949, and 32, 672 votes
were cast against the adoption of the said Act, and a majority
being cast in favor of the said referred law, it has therefore
been ratified by the voters of Baltimore City.


AND I DO FURTHER CERTIFY, That at said election in Baltimore
County, 30, 848 votes were cast in favor of the adoption of
Chapter 708 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1949, and
22, 750 votes were cast against the adoption of the said Act, and
a majority being cast in favor of the referred law, it has there-
fore been ratified by the voters of Baltimore County.


IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
scribed my name and affixed my Official Seal,
Done at the City of Annapolis this 27th day

of November, in the Year of Our Lord, One
