THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 2091

WHEREAS, such experiments could be conducted by the De-
partment of Tidewater Fisheries with the advice of the Depart-
ment of Research and Education; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Department of Tidewater Fisheries acting with the advice
and in conjunction with the Department of Research and Edu-
cation is authorized and directed to provide shells and brood
stock for practical experiments in an attempt to restore oyster
productivity to the depleted bottoms of Chincoteague Bay;
and be it further

Resolved, That the said Departments be directed to sow
15, 000 bushels of shells and 400 bushels of mature oysters for
use as brood stock in said Bay; and be it further

Resolved, That the funds for such planting shall be taken
from the Oyster Fund already available to the Department of
Tidewater Fisheries for such purpose.

(Senate Joint Resolution 13)

Senate Joint Resolution directing the Governor and the Board
of Public Works to reduce the budget for the next fiscal year
by at least $1, 000, 000. 00 under the provisions and within
the limitations of Section 9 of Article 15A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland.

WHEREAS, the Senate and the House of Delegates of Mary-
land, from a study of the budget submitted, are convinced that
the expenditures provided for in the budget for the next fiscal
year may be reduced by at least $1, 000, 000. 00 without any
sacrifice in the efficient operation of the State government;
now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor and the Board of Public Works be and they are
