SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (c) of Section 25 of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Alco-
holic Beverages, " sub-title "Local Licenses and License Pro-
visions, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
25.
(c). (Local Provisions. ) No license for the sale of alco-
holic beverages containing more than fourteen per centum of
alcohol by volume shall be issued in the [first, second] fourth
[seventh, and eighth] election [districts] district of said
county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of Elec-
tion Supervisors of Anne Arundel County shall cause to be
printed on the voting machine label used in the 1st, 2nd, 7th
and 8th 1ST AND 2ND Election Districts at the next general
election to be held in November, 1952, the title of this Act
and immediately beneath the title the following statements:
"For the Sale of Hard Liquor" "Against the Sale of Hard
Liquor", with the usual provision for voting on each of said
statements. If at said election a majority of the votes cast on
the question in the 1st, 2nd, 7th and/or 8th 1ST AND/OR
2ND Election Districts, respectively, shall be "For the Sale
of Hard Liquor", this Act shall become immediately opera-
tive in any or all of said Election District, as the case may be;
but if a majority of the votes cast in the 1st, 2nd, 7th and/or
8th 1ST AND/OR 2ND Election Districts, respectively, shall
be "Against the Sale of Hard Liquor, " this Act shall not be-
come operative and shall be of no effect in any or all of said
Election Districts, as the case may be.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
