MONTHLY INSTALMENTS. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
ACT SHALL NOT APPLY TO ANY PERSON RETIRED
UNDER THE PRESENT EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM OF MARYLAND, THE STATE TEACHERS' RE-
TIREMENT SYSTEM OR THE PRESENT STATE POLICE
RETIREMENT SYSTEMS; PROVIDED, HOWEVER,
THAT NO PERSON NOW RECEIVING A RETIREMENT
ALLOWANCE SHALL RECEIVE LESS THAN HE IS NOW
RECEIVING.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

(House Bill 131)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
37B (x) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation
and Duties", providing for an increase in the compensation
paid to the deputies, assistants and employees in the
Sheriff's office of Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section 37B (x) of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title
"Compensation and Duties", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
37B.
(x) In Baltimore City, the Sheriff shall receive an annual
salary of $7, 500. He shall appoint a Chief Deputy at f 4, 300
per annum, one Writ Clerk at $3, 000 per annum, one Assistant
Writ Clerk at $2, 900 per annum, one Equity Docket Clerk at
f 2, 900 per annum, one Stenographer-Docket Clerk at $2, 500 per
annum, and such Deputies at $2, 500 per annum and such as-
