sistants at such compensation as shall be provided for in the
annual Ordinance of Estimates of said City. Provision shall
also be made in said Ordinance for the expenses of the office
of the Sheriff, including the purchase and maintenance of
motor vehicles, and the Mayor and City Council shall have the
same power with respect to the salaries and expenses of the
office of Sheriff as it has under the City Charter with respect
to the salaries and expenses of all municipal departments.
Provided further, that from and after June 1, 1951, JANU-
ARY 1, 1952, each of the deputies, assistants and employees
for whom provision is made hereinabove in this sub-section
shall be allowed and paid a salary increase at the rate of $500.
per year, said increase to 'be based upon and to be in addition
to the rate of compensation or salary received by each such
deputy, assistant or employee immediately prior to June 1,
1951. DECEMBER 31, 1950.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951. JANUARY 1, 1952.

AN ACT to add Section 1187A to the Montgomery County
Code (1947 Edition), (to be Section 104. 2A of the 1950
Montgomery County Code) and Section 1293A to the Prince
George's County Code (1943 Edition), titles "Montgomery
County, " and "Prince George's County, " sub-title "Takoma
Park, " to extend the boundaries of Takoma Park to include
a certain area in Prince George's County and to repeal
Section 1188 of the Montgomery County Code (1947 Edi-
tion), (being Section 104. 3 of the 1950 Montgomery County
Code) and Section 1294 of the Prince George's County Code
(1943 Edition), titles "Montgomery County, " and "Prince
George's County, " sub-title "Takoma Park. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the
