SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That Section 1377 (a) of said
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

1377 (a). The Mayor and Common Council shall have power
to levy on or before the 31st day of March for each year, the
tax year commencing the 1st day of January, taxes at such
rates as they may find necessary for anticipated expenses for
the coming fiscal year, not to exceed [50] 75 cents on the
$100. 00 assessed valuation, based on the State and County as-
sessments for all purposes, and all taxes so levied shall be a
lien on any and all property of the person, company or corpora-
tion against whom they may be levied and the taxes for each
year are payable on the first day of April next succeeding the
levy thereof, and will be in arrears and subject to a legal inter-
est from and after October 1, next following.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 98
(House Bill 101)

AN ACT to amend the 1943 Edition of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County, being Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland compiled and
edited by Horace E. Flack, by adding a new section to be
known as Section 131A to follow immediately after Section
131 of said Code, authorizing the Mayor and Town Council
of Brentwood, Maryland, to borrow on the credit of the
Town from time to time such sums of money not to exceed
at any one time Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15, 000. 00) to
purchase or construct additional building facilities for
housing the apparatus and equipment of the Brentwood
Volunteer Fire Department, Incorporated, and to provide
for the payment therefor and to provide that before this
Act shall take effect the same shall be submitted to the quali-
fied voters of said Town for their approval or rejection.
