ment of [State] Forests and Parks, and they may pay all
costs and expenses thus incurred out of any surplus mon-
eys standing to the credit of the Forest Reserve or Park
Reserve
Funds, not otherwise appropriated; nothing here-
in contained shall apply to the City of Baltimore.; AND
IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROJECT FOR WHICH
THE LANDS MENTIONED IN SECTION 28 OF THIS
ARTICLE ARE TO BE ACQUIRED, SUCH POWER OF
CONDEMNATION SHALL NOT BE EXERCISED
WITH RESPECT TO ANY LANDS LOCATED MORE
THAN ONE-HALF MILE FROM THE MEDIAL LINE
OF THE SAID PATAPSCO RIVER, OR EITHER OF
ITS BRANCHES.

60. (A). Within three years, but in no event less than
thirty days preceding a cutting, the owner of woodlands,
hereinbefore defined, or his agent, shall MAY make applica-
tion to the District Forestry Board of the woodlands pro-
posed to be cut. Such application shall be made by mail and
addressed to the District Forestry Board of the District
in which the lands are located, and shall contain the fol-
lowing information: the location of the woodland, its ap-
proximate acreage, and the proposed cutting plan.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the names of
the Department of State Forests and Parks and the Com-
mission of State Forests and Parks be and they are hereby
changed to the Department of Forests and Parks and the
Commission of Forests and Parks respectively and that the
phrase "Department of Forests and Parks" be and it is
hereby substituted for the phrase "State Department of
Forestry" or Commission of State Forests and Parks and
for the phrase "State Board of Forestry" or Commission
of Forests and Parks and for the phrase "Department of
State Forests and Parks, " wherever any of the three last
phrases occur in Article 39A or elsewhere in the laws of
this State.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the title of the
chief administrator of the Department of Forests and
Parks be and it is hereby changed from "State Forester"
to "Director" and that wherever the words "State For-
ester" appear in Article 39A or elsewhere in the laws of
this State that the word "Director" be substituted therefor.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That Sections 46
to 51, inclusive, of said Article 39A, comprising the sub-
title "Safety in the Use of Fire in the Open Air" be and
they are hereby repealed.
