Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "State Tax Commission", Sub-section 179 (c) hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 64 of the Acts of the Special
Session of 1948 and Sub-section 180 (c) having been amended
by Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Regular Session of 1950,
changing the schedules of compensation for Supervisors of
Assessments and for Assessors in this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-sections 179 (c) and 180 (c) of Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission", Sub-
section 179 (c) having been amended by Chapter 64 of the Acts
of the Special Session of 1948 and Sub-section 180 (c) having
been amended by Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Regular Session
of 1950, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(c) The following classifications and their respective sched-
ules prescribing minimum and maximum rates with auto-
matic increases from minimum to maximum, at the rate of
20% each year for a period of five years are hereby established
and shall apply to the Supervisors of Assessments of the several
counties and Baltimore City:
Class A............... [$4, 000 to $5, 000] $4, 400 to $5, 400
Class B................ [ 3, 500 to 4, 500] 3, 850 to 4, 850
Class C................ [ 2, 800 to 3, 500] 3, 100 to 3, 850
Class D................ [ 2, 000 to 2, 750] 2, 300 to 3, 050

(c) The annual salary of each assessor shall be determined
by the classification of his respective county or of Baltimore
City as established by the State Tax Commission and in accord-
ance with the schedules of compensation herein set forth. The
salaries of all assessors herein provided shall be paid monthly,
semi-monthly or bi-weekly by the several counties and Balti-
more City. A sum equivalent to one-half of the annual salary
shall be paid by the Comptroller for the State of Maryland
from general funds to the several counties and to Baltimore
City, such payments to be made to the said counties and City
quarterly. The several counties and Baltimore City are hereby
directed to levy annually such sums as may be required to pay
the remaining one-half of these salaries. The following classi-
fications and their respective schedules prescribing a minimum
and maximum salary rate with automatic increases from
