minimum to maximum, at the rate of 20% each year for a
period of five years, shall apply to the assessors of each county
and Baltimore City:

Class A................ [$3, 000 to $3, 750] $3, 350 to $4, 100

Class B................ [ 2, 750 to 3, 500] 3, 050 to 3, 800

Class C................ [ 2, 250 to 3, 000] 2, 550 to 3, 300

Class D............... [ 1, 800 to 2, 500] 2, 100 to 2, 800

In addition to the above classifications, there shall be such
additional class or classes, with different maximum and mini-
mum salaries for Baltimore City, as may be determined by the
State Tax Commission after consultation with the Board of
Estimates of Baltimore City.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 586
(House Bill 641)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 22
of Chapter 142 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, 1949, raising the borrowing power of the town of
Forest Heights, in Prince George's County, from 8% to 10%,
extending the period of repayment, and providing for a
referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 22 of Chapter 142 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1949, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

22. (a) To effectuate the improvements named in the pre-
ceding sections the Mayor and Town Council of Forest Heights
is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow from time to
time on the faith and credit of the town, a sum or sums of
money sufficient to pay the costs thereof, which shall not how-
ever, exceed in amount of any one time for any purpose the
