of the voter to request transfer of registration upon mov-
ing from one voting precinct to another. It shall be the
duty of the Board of Supervisors of Elections to see that
the registration lists are kept up to date by striking from
the lists persons known to have died, moved out of the
city or the voting precinct in which they are registered,
or to be ineligible for any other reason. The board of
aldermen is hereby authorized and empowered, by ordi-
nance, to adopt and enforce all rules and regulations neces-
sary to install and maintain a system of permanent regis-
tration.
REVISION DAY
50. On the third Tuesday in May, 1954, and on the
same day every four years thereafter, the boards of regis-
try shall meet in their respective places of registration
for the sole purpose of revising their registration lists.
BOARDS OF REGISTRY
51. At the time of appointing the judges of elections
as provided in Section 48 of this charter, the Board of
Supervisors of Elections shall designate two of these judges
of elections in each precinct to serve as a board of registry
for the precinct. No more than one member of each board
of registry shall be of the same political party. Members
of the boards of registry shall be residents and qualified
voters in the precinct in which they serve. All questions
concerning the right of any person to register shall be
decided by a majority of the members of the board of
registry concerned.
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION
52. The Board of Supervisors of Elections shall give
at least ten days notice in two or more newspapers of
general circulation in the City of Frederick and by posting
notices in public places in each precinct of the times and
places in each precinct of the sitting of the boards of regis-
try for the purpose of registration.
HOURS OF REGISTRATION
53. The boards of registry shall keep the places of
registration open from 8: 00 A. M. to 8: 00 P. M. on regis-
tration days.
CHALLENGE
54. Any voter shall be permitted to be present at the
places of registration and shall have the right to challenge
