1424 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 509

George's County (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County, " sub-title "Fire Companies, " as said sec-
tions were amended by Chapter 328 of the Acts of 1949,
relating to the annual appropriation for Prince George's
County Volunteer Firemen's Association and Rescue Squad
and to the Treasurer's bond therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 603i and 605 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Prince George's County, " sub-title "Fire Companies, " as said
Sections were amended by Chapter 328 of the Acts of 1949,
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

603. (a) The County Commissioners of Prince George's
County are hereby authorized and directed to appropriate
and levy annually the sum of [Forty-seven] Forty-eight
Thousand Six Hundred Dollars [($47, 600. 00)] ($48, 600. 00)
for the use of the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire-
men's Association, Incorporated and the Prince George's
County Rescue Squads. Said sum shall be paid annually to
the Treasurer of said Association, and [Eight] Nine Thou-
sand Four Hundred Dollars [($8, 400. 00) ] ($9, 400. 00) thereof
shall be disbursed by him, as follows: to the Bladensburg
Rescue Squad, $1, 200. 00; Glendale Rescue Squad, $1, 200. 00;
Marlboro Rescue Squad, $1, 200. 00; Brentwood Rescue Squad,
$1, 200. 00; Branchville Rescue Squad, $1, 200. 00; District
Heights Rescue Squad, $1, 200. 00, [and] the Bowie Rescue
Squad, $1, 200. 00, and the Oxon Hill Rescue Squad, $1, 000. 00.
[to each of the twenty-eight (28) Volunteer Fire Companies
of record as of December 31, 1948, the] The Treasurer shall
disburse $1, 400. 00[. ] to each of the twenty-eight (28) Volun-
teer Fire Companies of record as of December 31st, 1948.

(b). Said disbursements shall be only on order of the
Board of Directors of said Association to the member com-
panies, and/or rescue squads of said Association, only for
the purpose of purchasing, repairing, housing and maintain-
ing apparatus and equipment; provided, however, that no
payment shall be made to any fire company or rescue squad
which has resolution or regulation limiting the territory
within which it will respond to calls and provided further
that before any new volunteer fire association, rescue squad,
company or corporation shall share in said appropriation,
said volunteer fire association, rescue squad, company or cor-
