olis Metropolitan Sewerage Commission, then the Charter of
said Commission and all powers heretofore conferred upon it
shall be and are hereby repealed, and after the execution of any
such contract all references to the Annapolis Metropolitan
Sewerage Commission, whether in State laws, ordinances, deeds
or other documents, shall be construed to mean the City. It
is the intent and purpose of this section to transfer and con-
fer upon the City all the rights and powers of the Annapolis
Metropolitan Sewerage Commission, including the power to
levy ad valorem taxes, in the event the City acquires the assets
of said Commission as hereinabove authorized, so that should
the City acquire the trunk line sewer system and the sewage
disposal plant presently owned, maintained and operated by
said Commission, the City shall have the authority, which is
hereby expressly granted, to levy all taxes, assessments and
charges which said Commission is now authorized and em-
powered by law to levy for the continued maintenance and
operation of said system and for the liquidation of any in-
debtedness heretofore incurred by said Commission in the con-
struction of said trunk line sewer system and said sewage dis-
posal plant.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, that nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed to modify, affect or repeal any powers
heretofore or hereafter conferred upon the State Board of
Health of Maryland but, on the contrary, all powers hereby
conferred on the City shall be exercised by the City subject to
the supervision and control of said State Board of Health as
heretofore provided by law.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, that this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
