to be known as Section 42A, to follow immediately after
Section 42 of said Article, making it unlawful to con-
struct buildings or place vehicles on State highways
for the purpose of selling or displaying merchandise or
produce without a permit.
AN ACT TO ADD A NEW SECTION TO ARTICLE 66½
OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1947
SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "MOTOR VEHICLES", SUB-
TITLE "OPERATION OF VEHICLES UPON HIGH-
WAYS", SAID NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS
SECTION 192A AND TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY
AFTER SECTION 192 OF SAID ARTICLE, MAKING
IT UNLAWFUL TO CONSTRUCT BUILDINGS OR
PLACE VEHICLES ON STATE HIGHWAY RIGHT-
OF-WAYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING OR
DISPLAYING MERCHANDISE OR PRODUCE
THEREON IF A TRAFFIC HAZARD IS CAUSED
THEREBY.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "State Roads", sub title "Duties and Powers ", said
new section to be known as Section 42A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 42 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
THAT A NEW SECTION BE AND IT IS HEREBY
ADDED TO ARTICLE 66½ OF THE ANNOTATED
CODE OF MARYLAND (1947 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE
"MOTOR VEHICLES", SUB-TITLE "OPERATION OF
VEHICLES UPON HIGHWAYS", SAID NEW SECTION
TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 192A, TO FOLLOW IM-
DIATELY AFTER SECTION 192 OF SAID ARTICLE,
AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
42A. No person, firm or corporation shall construct
any building or place any vehicle on any State highway
right of way for the purpose of selling-or displaying any
merchandise or produce therefrom without a permit issued
by the State Roads Commission. Any person violating
this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined not more than One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100. ) or imprisoned for not more than
thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the Court.
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT
APPLY IN ANNE ARUNDEL, CALVERT, HARFORD
AND SOMERSET COUNTIES..
