CHAPTER 435
(House Bill 714)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wash-
ington County, " said new section to be known as Section
164, to follow immediately after Section 163 thereof, to be
under the sub-title "County Commissioners, " and under the
sub-heading "Health, " authorizing the County Commis-
sioners of Washington County by rules and regulations to
control, regulate or prohibit the dumping of garbage and
certain other offensive and unwholesome material within
the unincorporated parts of Washington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 22
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Washington County, " said new section to be known as
Section 164, to follow immediately after Section 163 thereof,
to be under the sub-title "County Commissioners, " and under
the sub-heading "Health, " and to read as follows:
164. The County Commissioners of Washington County are
authorized and empowered to adopt and promulgate rules and
regulations to control, regulate or prohibit the dumping of
garbage, offal, rubbish or any other offensive or unwholesome
material or matter within the limits of any unincorporated
area in said county, whenever in their judgment such dumping
has created or may create conditions dangerous to the public
health or offensive to residents of the said county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
