(House Bill 713)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
7(b), (c) and (d) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace, "
sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction, " as amended by Chapter 476
of 1949, increasing the jurisdiction of the trial magistrates
in Charles County and correcting an error relating to Cecil
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 7(b), (c) and (d) of Article 52 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Jus-
tices of the Peace, " sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction, "' as amended
by Chapter 476 of the Acts of 1949, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments to read as follows:

(b). Trial Magistrates of Caroline, [Charles, ] Dorchester,
Garrett, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot and Worcester
Counties shall have civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore
mentioned in this section and involving amounts not exceed-
ing Two Hundred Dollars.
(c). In all cases of the types mentioned in Sub-section (a)
of this section which involves amounts not exceeding $300. 00,
Trial Magistrates of Allegany, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Cecil,
Frederick, Harford, Montgomery, St. Mary's, Washington and
Wicomico Counties shall have civil jurisdiction, except that
in Cecil County cases involving in excess of $100. 00 may be
tried only before the Trial Magistrate who sits in Elkton.
(d). Trial Magistrates of Charles and Prince George's
[County] Counties shall have civil jurisdiction [except that
in Cecil Council cases involving in excess of $100. 00 may be
tried only before the Trial Magistrate who sits in Elkton, ]
in all cases hereinbefore mentioned in this section, instituted
after June 1, 1945 in Prince George's County and after June 1,
1951, in Charles County, and involving amounts not exceeding
Five Hundred Dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
