immediately after Section 724AA of said Code, to extend the
limits of the Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville, Mary-
land, a municipal corporation, by including therein a part
of Prince George's Comity contiguous thereto, and to pro-
vide for a referendum election thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (Flack's 1943
Edition), said new section to be known as Section 724BB and
to follow immediately after Section 724AA of said Code as
enacted by Chapter 379 of the Act of the General Assembly of
Maryland, 1947 Session, and to read as follows:

724BB. There is hereby annexed to the territory of the
Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville, Maryland, a municipal
corporation, and to the First Ward thereof, all of the land
adjacent and contiguous to the present City of Hyattsville in
Prince George's County, Maryland, described as follows:

Beginning at the point on the boundary of the City of Hyatts-
ville where the prolongation of the west line of R. P. Evans'
Addition to Hyattsville intersects the center line of the North-
west Branch, and thence running with the meanderings of the
center line of said Northwest Branch in a northwesterly direc-
tion to the center line of the existing bridge on Queens Chapel
Road over said Branch; thence running northeasterly with the
center line of Queens Chapel Road to the intersection of said
center line with the northerly line of Hamilton Street, the
boundary of Hyattsville; thence with said northerly line of
Hamilton Street easterly to the prolongation of the west line
of R. P. Evans' Addition to Hyattsville; thence with the west
line of said R. P. Evans' Addition to Hyattsville to the point
of beginning.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That except as hereinafter
otherwise provided, all the provisions of the Constitution of
Maryland, all laws of the State of Maryland applicable to the
City of Hyattsville which now are in force or may hereafter be
enacted, and all the existing ordinances of the City of Hyatts-
ville, shall be and the same are hereby extended and made
applicable to such portion of Prince George's County as is,
under the provisions of this Act, annexed to and made a part
of the said City of Hyattsville. Nothing herein, or elsewhere
in this Act, shall affect the power of the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Hyattsville to amend or repeal any ordinance existing at
the date of the passage of this Act, or to enact and ordain any
ordinance which, at the date of the passage of this Act, or
hereafter, it may be authorized to enact and ordain.
