THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1131

Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title
"Chapter 4. County Board of Education", be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

46. The county board of education may receive donations
of school grounds or school sites, or of houses already built
suitably located and adapted to school purposes, but in no
case shall any site be built upon, or any house be occupied,
until a good and sufficient title or leasehold of a term sufficient
to outlast the probable useful life of any building to be erected
thereon
has been obtained for the same in the corporate name
of the Board.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 380
(House Bill 352)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 437
of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Luke",
increasing the limit of the property tax levy in the town of
Luke and eliminating certain obsolete provisions as to
assessments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 437 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County",
sub-title "Luke", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

437. The Mayor and Commissioners of Luke, during the
month of May, in each year, have power to levy an equal tax on
property within the limits of said town or which have a situs
there by reason of the residence of the owner therein, to such
an amount each year, not exceeding the sum of [fifty] seventy-
five
cents on each one hundred dollars' worth of property, as
