CHAPTER 366
(House Bill 187)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
37B (f) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation
and Duties", authorizing the Sheriff of Carroll County to
appoint such deputies as may be necessary for the proper
execution of the duties of his office.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section 37B (f) of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", subtitle
"Compensation and Duties", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

37B.

(f) The Sheriff of Carroll County shall receive an annual
salary of $3, 000 and $2, 100 to cover all the expenses of his
office. He may appoint [a chief deputy sheriff] such deputies
as may be necessary for the proper execution of the duties of
his office, who shall receive such compensation as may be de-
termined by the County Commissioners of said County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
