sioners of Somerset County shall receive such salary
as shall be set by the said County Commissioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33 of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset Coun-
ty, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " said section hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 894 of the Acts of 1947, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
33. The County Commissioners of Somerset County
are hereby authorized to appoint a clerk to their board,
whose term of office shall be two years from the first day
of July after his appointment and qualification, unless
sooner removed by death, resignation or for incompetency,
or other disqualification for the office, in which case the
said board shall have power to fill such vacancy for the
period of his unexpired term. His salary shall be [Fifteen
Hundred Dollars ($1, 500) ] such amount annually us shall
be set by the said County Commissioners from time to
time; and before entering upon his official duties, he shall
take and subscribe the following oath or affirmation be-
fore one of the County Commissioners, either of whom is
hereby authorized to administer the same: "I do swear
or affirm solemnly that as clerk to the County Commis-
sioners, I will honestly and faithfully, to the best of my
skill and judgment, execute the duties pertaining to the
office which I am about to assume, without favor, par-
tiality or prejudice, so help me God, "
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
