SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Charter
of the City of Cumberland (1950 Edition, being Article 1A
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "City
of Cumberland", sub-title "Streets", to follow immediately
after Section 127 and to be known as Section 127A, and
to read as follows:
127A. In the event any street or alley or parts thereof
within the City of Cumberland shall be or have been closed
or vacated under the provisions of Section 127, said por-
tions, if previously dedicated as a public street or alley,
shall vest in the persons or corporations owning the prop-
erty on each side thereof in equal proportions according
to the length or breadth of such land as the same may bor-
der thereon, and as the titles to such bordering lands may
be held by the said owners thereof respectively. If any
portion of said public street or alley so closed shall have
been acquired by the Mayor and City Council of Cumber-
land either by purchase or pursuant to said Section 127,
then and in that event the title thereto shall upon the clos-
ing of said street or alley become vested in the Mayor and
City Council of Cumberland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
