Holbrook or his deputies to receive any claim or bal-
ance due by a deceased person in the same manner that
claims against deceased persons are now recovered by
law: and provided also, that this act shall continue in
force for one year from its passage.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act, entitled, an act for the benefit of John S.
Crockett and Cadmus Dashiell, administrators of Ma-
thias Dashiell, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and thirty-five, which expired by its own limi-
tations on the tenth of February, eighteen hundred and
thirty-seven, and which was extended for one year from
the eighteenth day of March, eighteen hundred and
thirty-seven, be and the same is hereby extended and
shall continue in full force for one year, and not more,
from the passage of this act.

An act authorising a per diem allowance to the Crier of
Frederick county court.

WHEREAS, the memorial of W. C. Russell, Crier of
Frederick county court, represents to this General As-
sembly that in consequence of the declension of busi-
ness in Frederick county court, occasioned by the erec-
tion of Carroll county, and by the establishment of
district courts, the allowance to the Crier as at present
regulated by law. is very small and scarcely worth at-
tending to: — Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That W. C. Russell, Crier of Frederick county court,
and his successors, be, and is hereby authorised to re-
