CHAPTER 65.

CHAP. 66.

An act to authorise the Orphans' Court of Dorchester
county to appoint a Guardian for Levina Cowart, of
said county.

Passed Feb. 19,
1838.

WHEREAS, by the act of seventeen hundred and nine-
ty-eight, chapter one hundred and one, it is required
that a guardian shall be appointed for the heirs of a
party dying intestate, in the county where letters of
administration are granted, or in which lies the real
estate of such intestate; and whereas, a certain Slayter
Cowart, late of the city of Baltimore, hath departed
this life leaving no real estate, and letters of adminis-
tration have been granted by the orphans' court of said
city on the personal estate of the said intestate: and
whereas, the said Levina Cowart, heir at law of the
said Slayter Cowart, now resides with her relation in
Dorchester county, and her property, consisting of ne-
groes and other personal estate, has been removed to
Dorchester county: — Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the orphans' court of Dorchester county be, and
the same is hereby authorised to appoint a guardian for
the said Levina Cowart; provided, the acts of Assem-
bly in such case made and provided, shall be in all
other respects fully complied with, any thing in any
law of this State to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 66.

Appoint guar-
dian.

An act for the benefit of John Clippinger, of Washing-
ton county.

Passed Feb. 19,
1838.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the judges of Washington county court be, and
they are hereby authorised and empowered to grant to
