CHAPTER 65.

Passed Feb. 17,
1838.

An act to enable James S. Morsell, junior, of Calvert
county, to collect certain fees due the estate of William
S. Morsell, deceased.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears by the petition of James S.
Morsell, junior, administrator of William S. Morsell,
deceased, late clerk of Calvert county court, that cer-
tain fees against the heirs of Walter Smith, deceased,
are due said deceased's estate which cannot be placed
in the hands of the sheriff of said county for collection
without the authority of the Legislature of this State:
Therefore.

Authority gran-
ted.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sheriff of Calvert county is hereby authorised
to receive said fees for collection any time within six
months after the passage of this act, and that he, the
said sheriff, shall collect said fees in such manner as all
officers' fees are collected within this State.

CHAPTER 64.

Passed Feb. 19,
1838.

An act to authorise the removal of the land records and
the records and papers of Frederick county court, from
the place where they now are, to the room in the court
house formerly occupied by the clerk of said county.

Removal autho-

rised.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may he lawful for the
clerk of Frederick county to remove the land record
books, and all the original deeds and other papers
therewith connected, as also the records of Frederick
county court, and all the papers of every kind belong-
ing to, or in any way connected with, the proceedings
of said court to the room in the court house of said coun-
ty formerly occupied and used as a clerk's office.

So to remain.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said records and
papers so removed, by virtue of this act of Assembly,
shall remain in the room or place to which they are re-
moved until a more safe and suitable place shall be
hereafter provided far them, and the safety and suitable-
