CHAPTER 47.

Passed Feb. 12,
1838.

An act for the relief of John Beard, Jr., Collector of the
Tax, for the first collection district in Anne Arundel
County.

Time extended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of.
Maryland, That John Beard, Jr.. Collector of the Tax
for the first collection district in Anne Arundel county,
be, and he is hereby allowed six months from the pas-
sage of this act, within which to complete his collection
of said Tax, and that he is authorised to make said
collection in the manner prescribed by law.

Accounts, affi-
davits requir-
ed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid John
Beard. Jr., shall in every instance, before he may pro-
ceed to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before
some Justice of the Peace of said county, that the same
remains unpaid, and that he hath not received any se-
curity or satisfaction for the same, or any part thereof,
more than the credits that may be allowed thereon.


CHAPTER 48.

Passed Feb. 12,
1838.

An act to divorce Elizabeth Jay, of Washington county,
from her husband, William Jay.

Divorce.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Elizabeth Jay, of Washington county, be, and
she is hereby declared to be divorced from her husband,
William Jay, a vinculo matrimonii.

CHAPTER 49.

Passed Feb. 12,

1838.

An act to divorce Rachel Harding, of the city of Balti-
more, from her husband John H. Harding.

Divorce.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Rachel Harding, of the city of Balti-
more, be, and she is hereby declared to be divorced
from her husband John H. Harding, a vinculo matri-
