An act to provide for the appointment of a Committee
to review and decide upon a suitable scite for a Bridge
over the Great Falls of Gunpowder, in Baltimore
County, in the thirteenth Election District in said
County.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petitions of a large and respectable portion
of the citizens of Baltimore county, residing in the vi-
cinity of Jacob Sheinberger and William Hoffman's
Mills, that they labor under great inconvenience in
times of high water, or ice, in the falls of great Gun-
powder, and it appears that a great diversity of opin-
ion prevails in the minds of said petitioners, where
said bridge should be erected over said falls. — There-
fore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Joshua Hutchens, Dixon Stansbury,
and William Anderson, be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed a committee to examine the different scites pro-
posed for the erection of a bridge over said Falls, near
Jacob Shembergers farm, and William Hoffman's Paper
Mill, on said Falls, and after fully taking into consid-
eration the advantages and disadvantages, proposed
for the construction of a bridge at, or near, such scites,

and if they or a majority of them shall decide, that
the convenience of the citizens so praying, or the com-
munity at large, will be promoted by the erection of a

bridge at either scite as proposed, then they shall decide
which will best promote the general good, and report
the result of their deliberations to the commissioners of
Baltimore county, in writing, with the probable
amount of cost of constructing the same in a good sub-
stantial and workmanlike manner, on or before the
first day of October next.

SEC. 2. And be it, enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the commissioners of Baltimore county, to cause
the same to be built in a good, substantial and work-
manlike manner, by issuing proposals, for the con-
structing and building the same.
