and has since fully paid the purchase money for the
same; and whereas, the said John Henke is by birth
an alien, and has not been residing in this country for a
sufficient length of time to enable him to become a natu-
ralized citizen, although be lias made known his inten-
tion in due form of law to become a citizen; and as it
appears reasonable that the said John Henke should
be made capable to hold real estate: — Therefore.

CHAP. 225.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John Henke, of Frederick county, may lawfully
purchase, have and hold. mm. charge, sell and convey,
transmit, devise or otherwise acquire and dispose of
real property, and any interest or estate therein, in the
same full and ample manner, in all respects, as if he
now were a citizen of this State.

An act to authorise the erection of a Bridge over the Pa-
tuxent river, at Brown's Ford, in Anne Arundel and
Montgomery counties, and for extending the roads
leading thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Doctor William P. Palmer and Caleb
Stabler, of Montgomery county, and Samuel Cissel
and Pennell Palmer, of Anne Arundel county, be, and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, to contract
for. superintend and direct, the building of a bridge of
suitable dimensions over the Patuxent river, at or near

Brown's Ford, on said river, in said counties, and the
commissioners of Anne Arundel county and the levy
court of Montgomery county are hereby authorised and
required, upon receiving from the said commissioners
an account of the cost and charge of erecting said bridge,
certified under the hands and seals of said commission-
ers, with an affidavit or affirmation of the truth thereof
annexed, to levy on the assessable property of their re-
