CHAP. 158.

Closing the
concern.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That any time hereafter
any number of stockholders, holding over two-thirds
of the capital stock, shall have authority, if they deem
it necessary, to order the business of the company to
be brought to a close, and settled according to the pro-
portions due to each, and the directors for the time
being shall have full power to sell, dispose of and
convey all the lands and other property of the con-
cern, under the direction of the society or company.

Enlarge capital.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That it the company
shall at any time deem it necessary, they shall have
power to enlarge the capital stock to any amount, not

this act, which shall he on the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and eighty, if not before altered or
repealed; or at any time when the directors shall make
sale or otherwise dispose of the lands and other stock

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall be so construed as to confer any bank-
ing privileges on the company aforesaid, nor the right
to issue any note of the nature of a bank note.

An act to extend the powers of the Commissioners of
the Town of Havre de Grace, in Harford county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petition of sundry citizens of Harford
county, inhabitants of the town of Havre de Grace,
that their best interests require an extension of the
powers of the commissioners of said town: — Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of the town of
Havre de Grace be. and they are hereby authorised to
grade any part of any of the streets in said town,
whenever they or a majority of them shall deem the
