farm, and the erection of suitable buildings thereon for the
use of the poor of said county.

Trustees of the
poor to be ap-
pointed.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the said commissioners to appoint annually, on or before
the first day of February, three persons residents of said
county, who shall be the trustees of the poor of said coun-
ty, and whose duty it shall be to superintend the affairs
connected with the poor house of said county under the
direction of the said commissioners of tax; and it shall be
the duty of the said trustees to meet at the poor house at
least once every three months to examine into the affairs
of the institution.

Report to be
made.
|
SEC 3. And be it enacted, That the said trustees shall
make a report of the condition of the said poor house and
of their own proceedings to the said commissioners of
tax, on or before the first Monday in January annually;
and the said trustees shall be entitled to two dollars per
day each for every day they may be actually in attendance
upon their duties.

Notice to be
given.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
tax of Carroll county shall give one month's notice in the
newspapers of said county of the completion of said poor
house, and its preparation for the reception and support of
the poor of said county, in pursuance of the provisions of
this act, when all pensions which the commissioners of the
tax of said county have been, or may hereafter be author-
ised to pay for the support of indigent persons of said
county shall cease.

An act to repeal the eighth section of an act, entitled an
act to establish Magistrates' Courts in the several Coun-
ties of this State, and to prescribe their Jurisdiction,
passed at December session eighteen hundred and thirty-
five, chapter two hundred and one, so for as the same
relates to Kent County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the eighth section of the act passed at De-
cember session eighteen hundred and thirty-five, chapter
two hundred and one, entitled an act to establish magis-
trates' courts in the several counties of this State, and to
