HOWARD

DISTRICT —The laws in force with respect

to primary schools in A. A. county, ap-

plicable to; inspectors to place so much of

4th election district as in Howard district,

into one or more of the school districts of

said Howard district; commissioners of dis-

trict to carry into effect the laws relating to

primary schools in said district, as now in

force in A. Arundel county,

Commissioners instead of levying $4000

as provided for by 2d sect. of act of 1830,

to levy the sum of $1800, &c.

Manner of paying school monies direct-

ed, &c.

Commissioners of, to levy money to pay

pensioners, &c.

Judges of orphans' court, justices of the

peace, trustees, &c. connected with prima-

ry schools, to be appointed in same manner

said officers are appointed in A. A. county;

such officers to exercise exclusive jurisdic-

tion in said district, in the same manner as

the officers of A. A. county now may, &c.

Commissioners of A. A. county who re-

sided in Howard district, to cease to be

members of this board, except for auditing

the liabilities of the county up to the time

of the passage of this act; thereafter board

of commissioners of A. A. county to consist

of five members; said members to exercise

all the rights, &c. now vested in the com-

missioners of A. A. county, &c.

Two-fifths of the tax levied on A. Arun-

del county, for the purpose of colonization,
to be paid by Howard district, and three-

fifths by the rest of A. A. county,

All such officers, &c. as are appointed in

A. A. county, to be appointed for Howard

district, unless otherwise provided for, &c.

their rights, &c. to be similar to those for

A. A. county, qualifications and compensa-

tion same, to lake same fees, &c. and be

subject to same penalties: clerk of the court

to be considered as a clerk of county

court, &c.
