HARFORD

COUNTY— Commissioners of, to have

same power to establish public landings on

the Tide Water canal, which they now have

to open or lay out public roads, and upon

petition of persons for a landing place,

commissioners to proceed in all respects as

now authorised to do in laying out, &c.

public roads; upon return of commission-

ers by them appointed condemn and esta-

blish public landings, &c. to serve the pub-

lic convenience, whenever the commission-

ers of the county think the public interest

require it, at the place mentioned in such

petition,

In all applications to be made for public

landings, &c. notice of such application to
be by advertisement for not less than 3
weeks previous in the newspapers of said

county,

Orphans' court of, to receive and appor-

tion the money to the election districts, &c.

not to pay over to school commissioners,

but to deposit it in some safe bank, &c.

To pay school masters by cheek, &c. ac-
counts to be stated and proved, &c.

School masters in his accounts to state

name and age of each child, &c. for which
he claims payment and slate number of days

each attended, and make oath the same is

true, after so stated, &c. certificate of some

one of school commissioners in district the

child resides, that the account is correct

&c. when so staled and presented to be

paid, &c.

to ascertain whether there is any money

unexpended, &c. if so, to be lent out on

mortgage for the use of school fund, &c.

and the same with interest to be invested

in mortgages from time to time at the end
