INSPECTORS

OF FLOUR— General Inspector of

Chap.

Sec.

Flour in the city of Baltimore, to cause all

barrels, &c. of superior quality to that de-
nominated "superfine, " to be branded with

the word "Family, " and if any person

other than the inspectors duly appointed,

shall place said brand on cask, &c. to for-

feit and pay to the State, a fine of not less

than $5, nor more than $20, &c.

Expenses to be apportioned among Ge-
neral Inspector and Assistant Inspectors,

proceeds of offices and inspections and

sales of drainings, to be divided equally,

INTERNAL

IMPROVEMENT— The 4th section of

the act of 1838, chapter 386, repealed, and

the Treasurer of the Western Shore re-

quired forthwith to direct the five per cent.

sterling bonds, issued in pursuance of the

3d section, &c. now in the custody of Mes-

srs. Baring, Brothers, &. Co. to the amount

of $400, 000, to be cancelled and returned

to the commissioner of loans,

Commissioner of Loans to issue and sell,

for the payment of $160, 000, the balance
of the State's subscription to the Annapo-

lis and Elk-Ridge Rail Road Company, for

the best price to be had, not less than par,

certificates to the amount of $160, 000, of

the stock of this State, bearing interest of

six per cent, and payable quarterly, and re-

deemable at the pleasure of the State, af-

ter fifty years,

Commissioner of Loans to pay proceeds

of said stock into Western Shore Treasury,

and as soon as he effects his sale thereof,

and the Treasurer of the Western Shore

pay the same to the amount of $160, 000,

to the President and Directors of the An-

napolis and Elk-Ridge Rail Road Compa-

ny, &c.
