RESOLUTIONS.

No. 57.

Passed Mar. 20,
1840.

Resolution in favor of Howard District.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian, be and he is hereby authorised to furnish
two complete sets of the laws of this State, from the State
Library, so far as they can be spared from the same, and to
purchase the deficiency, if any; and the Treasurer of the
Western Shore is hereby authorised to pay the cost there-
of, on the Librarian certifying the cost of said books, which
may be purchased under this resolution; one copy to be
left at the office of the clerk of Howard district court,
of Anne Arundel county, for the use of the court thereof;
the other copy to be left at the office of the register of wills,
for the use of the orphans' court of said district.

1840.

Resolution in favor of Fielding Lucas, Junior.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian, be and he is hereby authorised and directed
to subscribe for twenty-five copies of a work on the Prac-
tice of the Court of Chancery and other Courts of Equi-
ty in Maryland, published by Fielding Lucas, Junior, of
the city of Baltimore; provided, the said Lucas will con-
sent to accept in payment thereof supernumary books at
present in the Library, and at prices to be agreed upon
and settled between the said Lucas and the Librarian.

1840.

Resolution in favor of William Bromwell.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall be the duty of any judge of Baltimore city court,
to whom application may be made for that purpose, to dis-
charge William Bromwell, now confined in Baltimore
county jail, upon his entering into personal recognizance
without security, in such penalty as said judge may pre-
scribe, for his personal appearance before Harford county
