Resolution relative to gelling a Carpet for the House of i
Delegates.

WHEREAS, the carpet of the House of Delegates is en-
tirely worn out and in rags, and it is a mark of proper res-
pect to the people of the State, that, the said house should
present a plain but comfortable appearance — Therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the chief clerk of the House of Delegates, be and he is
hereby authorised and directed to cause to be procured a
carpet for the floor of the House of Delegates, and to em-
ploy a competent person to lay down and fit the same to
the said floor, and that the old carpet be sold and disposed
of, and the proceeds paid over to the treasurer of the Wes-
tern Shore.

Resolution in favor of Martha Walls, of Prince George's
County.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the Western Shore, be and he is hereby
directed to pay to Martha Walls, of Prince George's coun-
ty, the widow of a revolutionary soldier, or to her order,
annually, in quarterly payments, during her life, a sura of
money equal to the half pay of private, commencing from
the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty.

Resolution in favor of James A. Wilson.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of Harford county, be and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to take into their consi-
deration the claim of James A. Wilson, of Harford coun-
ty, for taking care of James Hambleton, in a severe ill-
ness, and that the said commissioners shall have power to
levy upon the assessable property of said county, such
