RESOLUTIONS.

1839.

Henry K. Long, William Shipley, Junior, Henry H.
Johns, Charles W. Bigham and George H. Joyce, Com-
mittee Clerks of the House of Delegates, S. W. Spencer
and James C. Reyner, Committee Clerks of the Senate,
the sum of fifty dollars each, as a further compensation
for their diligence and attention to the business of the Le-
gislature.

No. 42.

Resolution relating to Postage and Newspapers.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, pay to John Nick.
Watkins, Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates, and
Joseph H. Nicholson, Chief Clerk of the Senate, out of
any unappropriated money in the treasury, the amount of
the several accounts that may from time to time be pre-
sented to him by said clerks, for newspapers furnished
the members of the legislature during the present session;
and that he also pay the amount for postage upon letters
forwarded and received by said clerks, relative to the du-
ties of their respective offices.

Resolution in favor of Andrew Slicer and William Mur-
dock.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Andrew Slicer,
Messenger of the Senate, and William Murdock, Door
Keeper to the House of Delegates, sixty dollars each, for
taking care of their respective rooms and furniture, during
the recess of the legislature.
