CHAP. 152.

may hereafter, from lime to time, be adopted by the Gene-
ral Conference of the said church; and that said directors
shall have authority to fill all vacancies in their own body
arising from death, resignation or removal from the State;
and that a majority of all the actual directors shall consti-
tute at any time, a quorum for the transaction of busi-

ness.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained, shall be so construed as to authorise or empower
said corporation to issue any note, certificate, token or
evidence of debt, to be used or circulated as currency; and

An act to incorporate the German Catholic Beneficial So-
ciety of Baltimore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Matthias Geter, Daniel Gfroser, Joseph
Matthias Keller, John Matthias Kiszner, John M. Fried-
rick, Adam Lockbiehler, Peter Emge, Florenz Kuhn,
Joseph Eid, Christoph Blattner, Anton Kloke, Augistin
Rieger and Rudolph Bockmann, by their petition to this
General Assembly have set forth, that they and others of
the city of Baltimore, have formed themselves into an as-
sociation by the name of the German Catholic Beneficial
Society, for the purpose of providing a fund, by small pe-
riodical contributions in time of health for the support of

successors, be and they are hereby created and made a
