1838.

CHAPTER 9.

An act to establish two additional election districts in
Baltimore county, and for the general arrangement
of the whole, so far as appellation and numbers are
concerned.

1839.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of,
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the commissioners of Baltimore county shall appoint
from the first, second, fifth and seventh election districts
in said county a commissioner from each, whose duty
it shall be, to lay out and establish a new election dis-
trict, by taking a portion of each of the above mentioned
districts, and the said district, when established,
shall be known by the appellation of the Pikesville dis-
trict, or district number three.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of Baltimore county, shall also appoint a commissioner
from the fifth, eighth, ninth and thirteenth election
districts, whose duty it shall be to lay out and estab-
lish a new election district from a portion of the above
mentioned districts in this sections, and the remaining
portion of Dug Hill district, and the said district,
when established, shall be known by the appellation of
the While House district, or district number five.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That from henceforth, the
election districts in said county shall be distinguished
and known by the following appellations and numbers,
viz: — Ellicott's Mills district, or district number one,
Randall's Town district, or district number two, Pikes-
ville district, or district number three, Riester Town
district, or district number four, White House district,
or district number five, Middle Town district, or dis-
trict number six, Wiseburg district or district number
seven, Cockey's district, or district number eight,
Govan's Town district, or district number nine, Slade's
district, or district number ten, King's district, or
district number eleven, Neck district, or district num-
ber twelve.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the requisitions of
this act shall be executed, on or before the first day of
September, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and the
