CHAP. 83.

rick county be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, in their discretion, to levy a sum of money
not exceeding twenty-five hundred dollars, on the as-
sessable property in said county, for the purpose of
building a bridge over Middle Creek, on the road
leading from Emmittsburg to Baltimore.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the levy court afore-
said be, and the same is hereby authorised to contrast
with any person or persons to build said bridge; and
are required to take bond or bonds, with sufficient se-
curity, from any contractor or contractors, for the
faithful performance of his or their contract, in the-
usual form.

County to cause the wall around the jail of said
county to be raised.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Washington county be, and
they are hereby authorised to cause the wall around the
jail of said county to be raised, and to levy such sum
of money upon the taxable property of said county, as
may be adequate, and at such time and manner as they
may deem proper.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Samuel Ready, James Kirby, Levin
Jones, John Whittington, Charles Reeder, William
Rogers, James Fooks, W. A. Page, John K. Randall,
Robert Culley, John T. Brown, and such other per-
sons as may from time to time become, and be possess-
ed of stock in said company, be, and are hereby in-
corporated by the name of the Chesapeake Steam
Packet Company, for the purpose of establishing a line
