employ teachers for the same, upon such terms as they,
or a majority of them may deem proper, and it shall
be the duly of the said levy court annually thereafter,
at their regular levy laying meeting, to levy and as-
sess upon the taxable property of said county, subject
to the order of the said trustees, such sum or sums of
money as may be necessary to pay the annual salaries
of all said teachers, to be collected and paid over by
the collector of the county tax, to the said teachers
provided however, that no sum or sums shall be paid by
the said collector to the said teachers, or any of them,
without a previous order from the said trustees or a
majority of them.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the said schools and
school houses shall in all respects, be deemed and con-
sidercd as free schools for the education of all and
every of the children of the citizens of said county,
without distinction, discrimination or difference, and
it shall and may be lawful for any parent to send to
said schools, or any of them, for education, any one or
more of their children, without any costs, expense,
hindrance or disturbance whatever.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the surveyor or
Prince George's county, be and he is hereby authoris-
ed and required to assist the commissioners, mentioned
in the first section of this act, in dividing and laying out
fore provided for, and the levy court of said county shall
allow him as compensation for his said services, any
sum in their discretion not exceeding one hundred dol-
lars, to be levied on the assessable property in said
county.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That all former acts or
parts of acts, inconsistent with, or repugnant to the
provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby
repealed.
