CHAPTER 62.
An act 16 provide for the erection of an additional wharf
at the town of Nottingham, in Prince George's Coun-
ty, for the shipment of Tobacco, from the public
warehouse in that Town.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS it is represented to this General Assem-
bly by the petition of sundry citizens in the neighbor-
hood of Nottingham, in Prince George's county, that
of a proper wharf for the, shipment of Tobacco from
the public warehouse in that town; — Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Robert W. Bowie, Michael B. Car-
roll, and Henry M. Chew, of Prince George's coun-
ty, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
for the purposes hereinafter mentioned.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners or a majority of them, are hereby authorized
and empowered to purchase of any person or persons
who may own land bordering on the Patuxent River
at the point that may be selected by them as the most
eligible for the erection of an additional wharf lor the
shipment of Tobacco, from the public warehouse in
the Town of Nottingham, provided, such purchase and
other expenditures shall not exceed the sum of three
hundred dollars.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners or a majority of them, after they shall have
complied with the conditions hereinafter prescribed, be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to con-
tract for the erection of an additional wharf in the
town of Nottingham, in Prince George's county, of
such dimensions as in their judgment will best answer
the purposes contemplated by this act.
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the wharf herein di-
rected to be erected, shall be under the control of the
Tobacco Inspector for the Tobacco warehouse in said
town.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the justices of the
levy court of Prince George's county are hereby au-
thorized and empowered as soon as in their discretion
it may be necessary after the passage of this act, to
